The Rake, he's bad, he's different and he's mine. Well Halkale is his. Cats tend to view non-cats as possessions.
I suspect when I get a bit higher and can train the white cat that's a quest and I won't even try his name, I'll switch. White goes with my hair!

If it were more feasible to level all three as you go, you could keep the Rake, pick up Echeyakee (the white lion) at 16 and Humar (the black lion) at 23 -- for a full set of lions. :>
I think I'll keep one lion and one ravager and a boar. Yes, I'll have two Offensive pets, but hey who cares!
Then again, I may drop the cat, just to be different. Not sure if they are keeping the "feature" allowing you to have more than 3 pets.
